Picnic Update as of May 5, 2004
Plans are progressing well for this year's event. Plant tours will be offered at the end of the day.
Here are some other hot issues to be aware of.
Parking at Oxbow: Last year the 153 attendees consumed all the parking area close to the shelter. This year promises to bring even more guests so I suggest you come early and get a good spot. We cannot park on the grass, we must be in a parking slot or the park ranger will hunt us down.
If you arrive at 12:45 you may end up parking far away and will have to walk a little with your food and chairs.
As we did last year please feel free to bring your own lawn chairs. We will have a lot of tables but again we will no doubt overflow the shelter and sit out in the open.
Last year the age limit for current Crown employees to attend was 25 years and up. This year, due to a lot of interest, the age limit is being reduced to 20 year and up employees. This will add potentially another 25 senior employees to our party.
We will again provide electricity for any hot dishes you may bring. If you know what you want to bring you can drop me an e-mail and I will get it listed here so we can see where we have to many of one thing and not enough of another.
The main course will be provided, although we don't know what that will be just yet.
Like last year make sure you sign the guest book when you arrive. If you run close to 1:00 PM you can always come back and sign it before you leave, just be sure to sign it. That helps us identify people in the pictures.
Lost souls: If you know of someone who you'd really like to see and don't know how to find them, drop me an e-mail and I'll post the names on this web site. Then, as you all see the names come up, you can help provide info or contact the person yourself and extend an invitation. I personally would like to see Libby Marshall, Ike, Patty Smith, etc?. How about your list?

Donations: Last year the committee financed the entire event. This year we will have a donation box out so if you feel inclined you can help defray some of the cost of the event and the ongoing expense of this web site. I'm told the box will be "hard to miss" by the committee member in charge.
What:
The 2004 Crown alumni carry-in picnic.
Where:
Ox Bow County Park - Just off US 33 between Elkhart and Goshen, across from the Meijer store. We will be at the Cottonwood Shelter.

Look for another web update toward the end May.
See you there, rain or shine. There won't be another for several years so try to make this one.
